About KMES

Kelly Miller Elementary School has been awarded the prestigious honor of being an Arts in Basic Curriculum (ABC) school. The mission of the ABC Project is to provide leadership to achieve quality, comprehensive arts education (dance, music, theater, visual arts and creative writing) for all students in South Carolina. The Arts in Basic Curriculum Project supports a variety of services that help teachers, schools, and communities improve arts education and general education by using arts integration strategies. " The project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives  support from the National Endowment for the Arts."

All students entering Kindergarten through 12th Grade are required to complete a Summer Reading Project. This project will count as the first test grade in ELA.  Each student received a Summer Reading Packet, including a book. All projects are due by August 29, 2014.

                               Kelly Miller's "New" Uniform Policy

Our number one job at Kelly Miller Elementary School is to provide your child with the best positive learning experience in a safe environment. KMES will adopt a Mandatory School Uniform for the 2014-2015 school year. We believe the required uniform will have a positive impact on student's learning and behavior in school, serves to unite students, increase school pride, and eliminate class barriers. All Kelly Miller Elementary students in Child Development through Sixth Grade will be required to wear the school uniform.
